Obituary of Ericka R Cunningham

A Special Angel answered the divine will of God on Saturday, October 09, 2021, at her home. Ms. Ericka Cunningham, a loving daughter of Elinor Cunningham- Moreland and Charles Cunningham, was born on May 10, 1970, in Marianna, Florida.
At 3 months of age, Ericka and her family moved to Jackson, Michigan where she attended public schools. It was also there that Ericka began her spiritual journey at Second Baptist Church.
In 1987, the family relocated to Trenton, New Jersey, where Ericka attended and graduated from Trenton central high school class of 1988. Afterward, she attended and graduated from Gordon Beauty School. She then received her associates degree from Grand Canyon University of Phoenix, AZ.
Ericka furthered her Christian development and education at Christ Baptist Church in Burlington Township, New Jersey, where she attended the 8am church service. Ms. Cunningham’s final employment was with the Oaks of Pemberton, NJ a Division of The Department of Developmental Disabilities. Ericka’s entire professional career has been with the developmental challenged population.
Ericka was a strong, hard working and loving young woman. She had a heart bigger than the universe and a soul as deep as the ocean. It was this nature that caused her to love her family, friends, and the population she served; also, it was the same characteristics that made people love her, too.
Ms. Ericka is preceded in death by her grandparents, a sister Rachel Cunningham, and a niece Shanice Brittingham. Offering thanksgiving and love for Ericka’s life are her parents, Mother: Elinor (Carl) Cunningham-Moreland of Edgewater Park, NJ. Father: Charles Cunningham of Jackson, Michigan. Two Brothers: Cedrick (Mardella Suarez) Cunningham of Philadelphia, PA and Michel Cunningham of Jackson, Michigan. Four Sisters: Tina (Mark) Cunningham- Carpenter of Jackson, MI, Susan Brittingham, Michelle (Benjamin) Carr and Marlene Moreland if Trenton, NJ. Five aunts: Rogenia Butler- Johnson of Edgewater Park, NJ, Queen Dickens of Pompano Beach, Florida, Ella Mae Thompson, Dorthy Ingram of Rilpley, TN, and Deborah Cunningham of Jackson, MI. One Uncle: Willie (Lucy) Cunningham of Gates, TN. Seven nieces, ten nephews, one great niece, two great nephews and a host of cousins and friends
