Obituary of Joan E Stanford

Joan Ellen Stanford was bon on February 11, 1943 in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey to the late Carrol and Elizabeth Williams. Growing up Joan attended the Delran Public schools. At an early age Joan met and married the late Thomas Perry, from this union they were blessed with two sons, Tyrone (now deceased) and Keith. Later in life Joan met William Stanford, Jr., and they were married on July 7, 1984 and they continued to raise her sons as a loving family unit. They moved to Mt. Laurel, New Jersey where she resided with her pet African Gray Parrots until she became ill. Joan worked for several years at M & C Insurance Company. When she left M & C she began to work for Home Instead as a caregiver to many people in this area. When Bill’s health began to fail, Joan made caring for her husband a top priority. Joan became a member of Trinity A.M.E. Church in Cinnaminson under the late Reverend Curtis Francis. While at Trinity Joan served for a time as a Trustee and as an Usher, where she served as President until God called her home to rest. Joan was preceded in death by her husband William Stanford, Jr., her son Tyrone Perry, her parents Carroll and Elizabeth Williams, three brothers, Robert, Nathaniel and William and a special niece, Denise Jones. Left to mourn their loss and to cherish her memory are one son, Keith (Dawn), one grandson Shay, two sisters Elizabeth Davis Brooks of Newark, Delaware and Sharon Burgess of Pennsauken, New Jersey, one special niece Deena Williams and a special cousin Debbie Lindsey along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. “Many things about tomorrow I don’t seem to understand, but I know who holds tomorrow and I know who holds my hand.” Sorrowfully Submitted, The Family
