Obituary of Marlene D Gould
Please share a memory of Marlene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marlene Doris Gould was born on September 6, 1949, in Camden, New Jersey to Bertha and James Overton. She was preceded in death by her brothers James and Otis. She was educated in the Pennsauken Public School System and graduated from Pennsauken High School. She went on to earn her A.A. degree from Camden Community College in 1968.
She married Darrell Gould on May 25, 1974. She was a devoted Christian woman who loved the Lord and loved to attend church and anything to serve God. She loved her family and especially cherished moments with them.
She worked for several years at Zale’s Jewelry stores and loved spending time with her family, beautifying her home, reading, knitting, crocheting, cooking, and listening to gospel music. She enjoyed watching classic cartoons and old westerns. She could easily be found working and serving in her church, Laurel Hill Bible in Clementon.
No matter what she served the Lord first and dedicated her life to being a wonderful daughter and sister, an amazing aunt, and a good friend to many. She loved her nieces and nephews as her own children. Known for her graceful ways and her talent to decorate and light up any room, she kept the spirit of Christmas around all year. Whenever there were functions at church or in the community, she would be the first one to volunteer and be a part of something greater.
Marlene leaves to mourn, Darrell; 5 brothers, David of Baltimore, Maryland, Walter (Cookie) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mike and Charles (Geech) of Pennsauken, New Jersey, and Ronald of Charlotte, North Carolina, godson, Ronald, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
