Obituary of Glinder L Brooks

Glinder L. Brooks, 68 of Mt. Laurel, NJ passed away into God’s loving and eternal care on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Daughter of Lillian H. Farrow and the late Willie McCoy Farrow, Glinder was born in Hertford, North Carolina. She attended the public school system of Perquimans County, North Carolina from elementary thru 12th grade before moving to New Jersey where she resided in the Burlington County area for most of her life. She was initially employed as a Nursing Assistant at Rancocas Valley Hospital and a Direct Care Cottage Training Technician at New Lisbon Developmental Center for over 10 years. In 1988, Glinder moved on and successfully pursued a career as a correctional officer at NJ State Department of Corrections, Albert C. Wagner Correctional Facility in Bordentown, NJ and retired after 25 years of service. Beloved wife of Carlton A. Brooks for 50 years and loving mother of Melissa ‘Lisa’, (Jerome), Tamika, and Carlton, Jr. Glinder was a loving and devoted sister to Maggie, Herbert, Pearlie, Lillie, Lucy and was predeceased by brothers Willie McCoy, Jr., George Lee, and sister Juanita. She was a loving and caring grandmother to Rahmel (Chelsea), Dionte, Ajia, Jayla, Alex (Rachel), great grandmother to Ava ‘Elizbeth’, Ava ‘Grace’, Adalyn, and Aaliyah, and was predeceased by her precious granddaughter Nykaja. She absolutely loved her best friends Sylvia and Stacy like sisters, and is loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. A celebration of life for friends and family will take place at Second Baptist Church, 319 Mill St. Moorestown, NJ on Friday, December 3, 2021. A viewing will begin at 9 am followed by a funeral service at 11 am. Burial will then take place at Lakeview Memorial Park, Rt 130 N, Cinnaminson.
