Reflections of Life
David a. Jenkins
July 20, 1963 – November 29, 2021
David was affectionately called “Son, Dave, Jinx, Dad and Pop Pop” throughout his life. He was born on July 20, 1963 to the late Ida B. and Willie J. Jenkins. On Monday November 29, 2021, quietly and peacefully, David gently closed his eyes into eternal rest.
He graduated from Pemberton High School, Pemberton NJ in 1982. He traveled to various countries during his father’s Tour of Duty in the United States Army. Once his father retired, they relocated to Pemberton, NJ where he resided for over 40 years. The Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Hightstown, NJ, employed him many years.
David was a kind, happy person (always laughing and smiling); loving father, grandfather, Godfather and friend, who would give you the shirt off his back. He enjoyed watching his favorite teams, the New York Knicks and the Washington Football Team, 3rd base coaching the softball team, barbecuing steaks (especially on his birthday), dancing, family gatherings, bragging about his new grand baby (A’Ziyah) and dressing with his signature swagger in “Stacy Adams” from head to toe.
Preceding him in death his beloved parents Ida B. and Willie J. Jenkins.
David leaves to celebrate his legacy, his daughter Alexis Crayton, Mount Laurel, NJ; 2 Grandchildren: Quing Tyrone’ Figgins and A’Ziyah Ny’Alah Webster, Mount Laurel, NJ; Brian (God Son) NJ.
Aunts and Uncles: Eddie James Baldwin, Columbus, GA; Florine Hill (James) Columbus, GA; Florence Jackson, Columbus, GA; Annie Butts, Columbus, GA; Ruth (Howard) Myhand, Newark, NJ; Curtis Burkes, East Orange, NJ; Catherine (Larry) Sparks, Phoenix, AZ; Mariam (Samuel) Simms, Brooklyn, NY; Rosie (Archie) Muhammad, Memphis, TN; Marnie Burkes, Lawrenceville, GA. Loving cousins all whom reside in Arizona, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee. A host of life long loving friends residing in Pemberton, NJ (Lake Valley, Rottau Village, Sunbury Village); Browns Mills, NJ; Wrightstown, NJ; Fort Dix, NJ; Mount Holly, NJ; Willingboro, NJ; Trenton, NJ; Camden, NJ; Philadelphia, PA.
David’s Mother (Ida) words of Wisdom he Lived by:
“Life is too short to worry about things you cannot control. Take time for family…. Live and Love!”
