Obituary of Margaret McNair
Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret McNair, daughter of the late Roland Parks and the late Lena Tatum was born on January 19, 1921 in Goldsboro NC. She was educated in the Goldsboro, North Carolina school system. God in His infinite wisdom called her home on December 23, 2021.
Margaret accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age and became a member of Rock of Ages Holiness Church in Camden New Jersey.
She was united in holy matrimony to Clifton “Rick” McNair and from this union came 4 children: Clifton A. McNair, Donald L. McNair, and she was proceeded in death by son James. A. McNair, and daughter Lorraine A. McNair. She was also preceded in death by her only sister Hazel Isler.
Margaret was employed briefly by Campbell Soup. Her true passion was being a foster parent to many children: to mention, specially adopted son Reynolds “Eddie” Brooks. Margaret enjoyed decorating her home and was meticulous in every aspect of it. She loved watching TV and enjoyed her favorite soap operas, especially General Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with family. Margaret had a great sense of humor and always kept everyone laughing.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memory: sons, Clifton McNair (Shirley), Donald L. McNair; 12 granddaughters, Tonja Hart, Crystal McNair-Babb, Dawn Barnes, Lena McNair-Johnson, Yvonne McNair, Yvette McNair, Chante McNair-Clark, Courtney McNair, Lawona Brooks, Renee Brooks, Rhonda Brooks, and Keisha Brooks-Morrisey, and one grandson, James McNair Jr; sixteen great grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren and a host of many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was affectionately called “Mom-Mom” by her grandchildren.
“While there is joy in knowing that God has made a place for her, she will be greatly missed.”
