celebrating THE LIFE OF & LEGACY OF
Eva McNeil
Today we celebrate the life of Eva McNeil. Eva was born March 19, 1941 in Alabama to the late Esker Eddings and Eva Mae Smith. Eva was educated in the Milford Delaware school district. She was joined in Holy matrimony to the late Levi Tyson Sr. She was blessed with ten children and a loving mother/daughter relationship with Linette Martin. Later in life she married George McNeil. Together they raised two adopted daughters and three foster children.
Eva was a dedicated and devoted Certified Nursing Assistant for over 30 years before retiring. Although having many children of her own she knew she would be a blessing to more. Therefore, she became a foster parent to many children for over 30 years. Eva loved her family dearly both near and far. She enjoyed spending time with her family for holiday meals, backyard BBQ's and family reunions. She also enjoyed watching television (especially the soap operas). She enjoyed talking on the phone with friends and she loved her late night phone conversations with her family. She enjoyed cooking and she will never be forgotten for her famous banana pudding recipe.
Eva departed this life on January 17, 2022. In addition to her parents Eva is predeceased by her son Mike Tyson and her brothers Esker Pruitt Jr. and Rev. Raymond Lindsey. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband George McNeil; children Vanessa Patterson (Randy), Betty Tyson, Lavenia Coles (Jack), Levi Tyson Jr., Gregory Tyson, Paul Tyson, Paulette Littles (Grady), Terrance Tyson (Denise), Craig Tyson (Crystal), Dyamond McNeil, Simiyah McNeil, two foster children; Aaliyah Slade-Banks and Devonne Slade-Banks; brothers Russell Smith (fiance' Terri Cook), Curtis Smith (Donna), Timothy Lindsey (Charnicey), Darly Eddings and Tevane Eddings (Bettina); sisters Joan McDougland and Beatrice "Sissy" Clay; sisters-in-law
Bertha Pruitt and Lynette Lindsey; 31 grandchildren, 57 great-grand children, 36 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Eva will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
