Obituary of Delores Tinsley

Please share a memory of Delores to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Delores Tinsley (nee Phillips) was born February 8, 1953 in Dear Park, Alabama to John Phillips and Annie Lou Phillips (nee Wallace). As a teenager, she moved with her mother and siblings, to Camden, NJ, where she would spend the remainder of her life. Lois worked cleaning a doctor's office for a few years, but she was a naturally nurturing person, and her true passion was caring for children. She babysat for family members and friends and cared for at least 3 generations of their children. Leaving your child with Lois, you could rest assured they were well cared for, because she treated every one of them as if they were her own. Lois loved family and was blessed with four loving daughters, Denise Phillips, Michelle Echevarria (nee Phillips), Teaia Alston (nee Langford), and Robin Quarles. She also had many grand and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with and spoiling them all. Lois had a heart of gold and gave of herself so graciously and so wholeheartedly, without expecting anything in return. She always had an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, a basket of food to hold you over, or a couple dollars to get you through. She didn't have much, but she generously gave anything she had, to anyone in need.. She enjoyed cooking and often opened her home to provide a warm meal to those less fortunate than herself, especially on holidays. She also loved to sing, watch karate, action, and comedy movies, and read her bible. Delores is predeceased by her parents, John and Annie Lou Phillips, her brothers, Johnny Phillips and Donald Phillips, and sister Verna Solomon. She is survived by her long time companion, Andre Riley, her three sisters, Annie L. Shelton, Irelene Cammon, Betty Carter and sister-in-law, Elaine Dickey; four daughters, Denise Phillips, Michelle Echevarria (nee Phillips), Teaia Alston (nee Langford), and Robin Quarles; two son-in-laws, Shaun Echevarria and Daniel Alston; grandchildren, Shree, Shaniece, Lena, Neisha, Yolanda, Taalib, Nathaniel, Dania, Leona, Danielle, Lauren; eight great-grandchildren, her ex-husband and friend, Robert Tinsley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
