Angel Luis Renta Sanchez, a long-time resident of Camden, NJ, better known as Angie, unexpectedly passed away, at the age of 61, in his home on the evening of Thursday, March 10, 2022.
Angie is survived by his wife, Ramona (Monín) Cruz; his children, Ricardo and Joan; his grandchildren, Isaac Lucas, Mila Rose, Elias Joel, and Angel; his siblings, Jose Manuel, Iris, Annie, Aida, Edgardo, Tony, Lourdes, Roberto, Helen, and Ramón; countless nieces and nephews; and his kith Miosotis, her husband Ektor, and their children Zoe and Yahir. He is predeceased by his father, Juan Renta Capó; his mother, Maria Micaela Sanchez; and his brother Juan Renta, Jr.
Angie was born Angel Luis Renta Sanchez, on February 5, 1961, in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico to Juan Renta Capó and Maria Micaela Sanchez. Angie was number 11 out of 12 siblings. He lived his childhood and much of his youth in Juana Diaz, Río Cañas Abajo, Puerto Rico. Angie met Monín, his wife and partner of 34 years in Puerto Rico and together they welcomed their firstborn, Ricardo, on December 5, 1988; before relocating to Camden, NJ in 1993. There, Angie and Monín welcomed their daughter Joan, on February 13, 1995. In 2014, Angie and Monín met Miosotis, who they cared for as their own child. Angie lived the rest of his life in Camden, NJ with his wife, children, and grandchildren; and surrounded by his wife’s family, whom he loved as his own.
Angie was an incredible human being with a big heart and beautiful soul. He was humble and kind. He loved to help others without ever expecting anything in return and always wanted to make himself useful. His smile lit up a room and his laughter and cheerful spirit were contagious. Angie was always the life of the party; he loved to dance and joke around, constantly bringing joy and laughter to his loved ones. He loved to cook and everyone loved to eat his food – not only because he was a phenomenal cook, but because he fed people with so with so much love and joy. Most salient of all was his love for family. Angie held family to the utmost importance and made sure to maintain close relationships with family and loved ones near and far. Angie loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. They were the light of his world and his love for them radiated and was obvious to anyone he was around.
Angie was a son, a brother, an uncle, a husband, a father, a grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by many. Angie’s family, both immediate and extended, greatly appreciates your caring gestures, demonstrations of love, and solidarity.
