William was born the youngest of 13 in Columbus Ohio to Preston Winkfield and Anna Williams on October 15 1934. He went to South High high School and joined the Army in 1951. He moved to New York where he met his wife Collette and they married in 1958 and from that union came 3 beautiful children.
He started working for the Post Office for 2 years where he met his life long friend Mr Roy Watson who stayed in touch and remained one of the truest friends one would wish to have and was deeply saddened by his friend passing , He left the post Office to work for the NYC Transit Authority until his retirement.
He enjoyed Traveling and target practice at the shooting range and he spent his weekends with a nice cold one. He received many AWARDS/HONORS from the US Army for his dedicated service and was involved in American Legion College Service Officers Department of NJ and 40th Officers Training Institute, Department of NJ.
William is survived by his Son Eric and Daughter Monique,. grandchildren Akilah , Jameela , Jamel, and a host of nieces and nephews). He is preceded in death by his parents, Daughter Simone, Ex wife Colette Winkfield , And all 12 of his siblings . The family wishes to extend their gratitude to All.
