Linda Gayle Allen was born on November 11, 1948 in Fairfield, Alabama to the late Gailord Allen and Vernell Allen. She was the sister of; Shirley, Bruce, Jackie, Winifred, Sandra, and Y.C. Allen Sr.
Linda grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she fulfilled not only her commitment to finishing high school, but also earned an Associate’s Degree in Legal Studies.
Linda was mother to five children: Felicia, Sabrina, Percy, Melissa, and Ernest. Linda fostered five other children: Christine, Shadeed, Samara, Kenisha, and Salim. Linda was the guardian mother of her three grandsons; Percy, Romance, and Javon. She devoted her entire life caring and helping many people in need; her doors was always open. Linda greatest love was passionately giving of herself to those of need.
Linda had a loving heart, she spent her life giving, sharing, and caring for people of all walks of life. Linda poured so much in others that most of the time she would forget to allow herself to receive. She did this devoted act 24hrs./7-days a week most of her life. Everyone who visited Linda’s home received something from her; a meal, a shower, a warm bed, help to find jobs, clean clothes to wear, shoes to wear, food to carryout, money that answered a need, a shoulder to cry on, an ear that listened, a hug of care; Linda heart was big. Linda spent her life praising and worshipping the Lord. When she stumbled or things gotten hard, she always turned to prayer to guide her through.
Linda loved the city of Philadelphia, where he resided most of her adult life. On April 7th, 2022 after a long illness Linda had to leave this earthly rim, and on occasions she expressed she was ready to go home to God. She leaves behind; two sisters, one brother, four biological children, three guardian children, five fostered children, fourteen grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ms. Allen before she passed, requested that she be cremated without viewing and services. Linda Allen’s place of departure: May Funeral Homes located 4075 Haverford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19104
