Obituary of Louella C. Young

Please share a memory of Louella to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Louella C. Young (nee Williams) was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, where she was one of eleven children, on July 1, 1935 to Bert and Indiana Williams. She was called home to be with the Lord on April 16, 2022. Baptized at the early age of seven, she became a member of St. Luke Baptist Church in Echo, Louisiana. She graduated from St. James High School of Alexandria, Louisiana. In 1958, she moved to Philadelphia where she attended Temple University and received her Associates degree in Business Administration. Shortly thereafter she met the love of her life and married Fred Young. From this union two loving children were born, Anthony and Cynthia. The family re-located to Magnolia, NJ and Louella continued her professional career at West Jersey Hospital (now known as the Virtua Hospital). Louella’s love and faith in God was seen as a young child. Louella was an active and dedicated member of Grace Temple Baptist Church in Lawnside, NJ where she served as a Deaconess. She also blessed Grace with her beautiful voice and sang on various choirs. During the summer, she worked diligently with children during Vacation Bible School and was a greeter throughout the year. Louella and her husband, Fred, were avid motor home campers. She was a charter member of the Leisure Travelers Club and life-time member of the Us Club. They traveled and camped in all forty-eight states and were blessed to own five motor homes. Her happiest moments were spending time with her family. She was loving and kind to all around her and no one stayed a stranger too long. She provided loving advice and family values that we now carry with us. She is survived by a loving husband of 61 years, Fred Young, a son Anthony (Carol) Young of Sicklerville NJ, a daughter Cynthia (Jerome) Ferguson of Havre de Grace, MD, and four grandchildren, Anthony Jr. and Meena Young, Jalen and Elise Ferguson, a loving sister, Mildred Lawrence of Yeadon, PA, and three dedicated brothers Bert (Gert) Williams of Alexandria, LA, Lindbergh Williams of Washington D.C., Charles Williams of Los Angeles, CA, sister-in-law Leona Young, brother-in-law Carl Young and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
