Dexter Lee Scott, the son of Arlene Scott was born on March 4, 1969, in Mt. Holly, NJ. He departed this life on Tuesday April 26, 2022.
He attended Marcella L. Duffy Elementary School and graduated from Florence High School in 1987. While in high school he was a member of Student Council, the Library Club, Future Business Leaders of America, the Science League, Senior Class Vice President, Student Government, the National Honor Society, and he was active in track and field. He then went on to attend Montclair State University where he graduated with a degree in communications.
He was formerly employed at Forensic Psychiatric Hospital, Catholic Charities, Multi Housing Depot, and the most recent at Inter Solutions where he was a Sales Executive.
At a very young age Dexter accepted Christ as his personal savior at St. Paul Baptist Church. He was an avid Sixers and Steelers fan and enjoyed going to games whenever he could. He loved music and movies, ESPECIALLY Luther Vandross and Sydney Portier. He also loved reading and had a massive book collection with a wide range of interest. Education was very important to him which is why he would offer assistance from tutoring to college visits to anyone in need. Dexter really enjoyed family gatherings and was known for frying fish at the Labor Day cookouts.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his mother Arlene Scott; his brothers Raymond (Brenda) Scott, and Darryl (Jennifer) Scott; Godparents Bud and Stephanie Scott; niece Nijaha (Danell Sr.) Snelling and nephew Darren Scott; three godsons Earl and Jason Scott, and Colin Volkes; 2 great nephews, 3 great nieces, and 1 great great nephew.
