Obituary of Nicolas Hunter

Nicolas Chance Hunter made an unforgettable impact on the stage of life from the day he was born on August 12, 1997, to Sylvester & Rhonda Hunter until the day he took his final bow on April 27th, 2022 at the age of 24.0 From the day Nicolas was born, he defied all odds. Early in his life, Nicolas overcame obstacles and exceeded expectations despite having three copies of chromosome 21, otherwise known as Down Syndrome. As he grew, his gifts and talents became more prominent, and it started to become clear that this was no ordinary young man. Nicolas had a flare, a spark if you will, for connecting with people and making them feel special. Nicolas graduated from Woodbury High School and went on to work at the Abilities Center in Deptford, NJ where he met Rafael, Tyanni, Meg, and Mike who loved him. He called them his friends. To say that Nicolas was tech savvy would be an understatement. Nicolas could do more things on a laptop or phone than most I.T. guys at any company. His mother always said that Nick had “Up-Syndrome” because there was nothing “Down” about him! He was, by all rights, a social media superstar with MANY accounts on different platforms. Each account had thousands of followers who would watch his funny videos. They watched his Lives where he would just talk and connect with people and share his life. He also shared his videos and pictures with his family. He was famous for posting many videos of himself dancing. Oh, how he could dance! His love of the Lord and music was everything to him. He would spend hours making his bracelets just like his dad. He was our biggest competition. Nicolas was always making sure that his family got a “Nick Hug” and always checked to make sure that his parents and siblings were alright. There is no way to sum up this amazing young man’s life within this writing. From this day forth, if you look around you will see the impact that he made on the world by the emptiness that is left in his family, his friends, and his community. Nicolas was a gem! Nicolas was the Best! Nicolas was a Hero! He lived up to his name - Victorious Army!!! Nicolas is home with Jesus and his great grandmothers, his grandmother Rosalind, his grandfather, Sylvester, his aunt Jaime and with Michelle having a Jesus Party. Left to fondly cherish his memory are: his parents, Sylvester & Rhonda Hunter; his siblings: Zachary, Jared, Joel, and Rosalind; his grandparents; Juanita Hunter and James Ross; his aunts, Regina Ross and Meggan Hunter; uncles, Christopher, Van, and Jason Hunter, numerous cousins, family and friends.
