HIS STORY
KEVIN LAMONT SCOTT was born on March 27, 1971, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania at Misericordia Hospital to Randolph and Edna Scott.
KEVIN was educated in the Willingboro, NJ Public School System. He loved to play sports especially basketball and track. His ultimate dream was to be a “super star”, but when that did not come to fruition, Kevin focused on his studies and went on to graduate from Burlington County Institute of Technology in Westampton, NJ in 1989. This training from BCIT provided Kevin with the basic knowledge and practical skills needed to obtain a degree and certification in the automotive field.
SHORTLY AFTER GRADUATING, Kevin worked in the automotive industry. But it did not take long to realize that this was not his niche. Kevin enjoyed working with his hands and he worked with various temporary professional service agencies where he found fulfillment. In his later years, Kevin enjoyed working for Central Lamar Paper Company in their Logistics Department. When Kevin was not working, he took pleasure in watching documentaries and educational programs, cooking Italian food, spaghetti, stromboli, and putting his foot in some fried chicken, one of his favorite dishes.
KEVIN was a people’s person; very caring, very friendly and a joy to be around. People liked the way he walked, swinging his arms in a cool and youthful way and some of his friends affectionately called him “Walkie”. Kevin was also a boxing enthusiast. During his hospitalization, he would stay up all night binging on boxing matches on YouTube. He enjoyed the full-body exercise and was intensely engaged with every movement. Then there were the children who had a special place in Kevin's heart for he loved children very much. But nothing could compare to his loving relationship that he had with his mother and father. They were the center of his joy and Kevin was looking forward to vacationing with his mom and dad this summer at the shore in Wildwood, a favorite family resort.
KEVIN accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a young age at Deliverance Evangelistic Church under the pastorate of Eric F. Ricks. Although Kevin’s life took some unexpected twists and turns, earlier this year, Kevin rededicated his life back to the Lord and was looking forward to returning to his church at Faith Deliverance. Kevin will truly be missed.
KEVIN will be remembered, cherished and deeply missed by his parents, Randolph and Edna Scott; one sister: Arnita Scott Brown (Sylvester); two brothers: Keith and Gregory Scott; one maternal grandmother: Fannie Pickett and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and three very close friends: Rich, Chuckie and cousin BJ.
