Huddie L. Burress (US Army First Sergeant retired) was born October 16,1938 in Pocahontas, Tennessee. He was a long-time resident of Willingboro,NJ. He honorably served in the United States Army for 27 years as a drill instructor before being promoted as second in command of the 19th Army Band out of Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was well respected for his leadership, devotion and passion while serving as a mentor to those in his command. He had a passion for music, carpentry and sports. He retired from the New Jersey Department of Corrections after 16 years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years Elizabeth Burress, loving sons Paul Lee Burress, Stephen Eric Michelle) and Daniel J. Brinson II(Venus), granddaughter Gabrielle Marlo Burress and grandson Daniel J. Brinson III, brother Willie Burress and sister-in-law Ola Mae Burress. He was preceded in death by parents Ed and Lizzie Burress, First wife Martha L. Burress, daughter Monique Brinson, brothers Clovis Burress, Horace Burress, Sam Laury, Samuel Laury, Enoch Burress,James Burress, Charlie Burress, John Arthur Burress, and Henry Burress. Sisters Victoria Burress Moore, Burbiner Burress Holley, and Frances Burress Robinson. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
