Obituary of Terry A. Dunn

Terry Ann Dunn, daughter of Ismay and the late Eugene Dunn, was born August 26, 1956, in New York City. Terry was raised and attended schools in the Bronx, New York. She also attended school for three years in Jamestown, South Carolina while living with her grandparents. She graduated from Walton High School in the Bronx and later attended Borough of Manhattan Community College. After working at various jobs following graduation, Terry worked for the City of New York for 42 years beginning on May 27, 1980. Her last position with the City was as a Computer Associate (Operations) at the Financial Information Services Agency (FISA) where she worked from August 20, 1984, until her official retirement date of March 22, 2022. Terry met the love of her life, Darrell Hudson in 1994 in the Bronx, NY. They were married on March 22, 2001, and have lived in Willingboro, NJ for the past 21 years. Terry was the mother of one daughter, Aquila and one son, Jason. She was the grandmother of five. Terry enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, often taking them out to eat, taking them on vacations and enjoying other family outings. She and her husband also enjoyed taking vacations and spending family time. Terry enjoyed spending time with her extended family, taking trips with her sister Patricia and their children and grandchildren. They also took trips without the children. Terry was a devoted and dependable friend, always willing to lend a hand. She loved to talk and was often the life of the conversation. There was nothing pretentious about her. She had no problem letting you know how she felt about a matter. Terry loved to laugh but most of all she loved to shop. It was hard for her to buy a small amount of anything. While a lot of the shopping was for herself, she would often shop for her family, including her mother, nieces and nephews. Terry accepted Christ at age 13. She was baptized on February 10, 1970, and became a member of Green Pasture Baptist Church, Bronx, NY where Rev. Dupree Fort was Pastor. She sang in the choir under the direction of Rev. Clyde Hambrick. She later became a member of The Lord’s Church where Bishop Eric McDaniel was Pastor. After moving to Willingboro, Terry became a member of Bethany Baptist Church where Bishop David G. Evans is Pastor and where she served on the Nursing Ministry for more than 10 years. Terry began attending Delaware Valley Baptist Church about a year ago, while her church was closed, participating in their prayer and Bible Study. She also enjoyed attending services on Sunday afternoons at House of Ephraim Church of God in Christ in Trenton, NJ, where Elder Daniel Steward is Pastor. On November 18, 2022, Terry passed away suddenly and peacefully at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her father Eugene Dunn and her brother Gerald Wright. Terry leaves to cherish fond memories her husband Darrell Hudson; daughter Aquila Dunn, Son Jason Dunn-Waring; grandchildren: Jani, Christian, Jalen, Sariyah and Raelyn; her mother Ismay Dunn; Sisters: Patricia Dunn-Jones (Ronald); Sharon Dunn-Cornick and Adopted Sister/Niece Tara Waring; Brother: Michael Dunn (Tracey); and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
