Douglas W. Smith, 61, died on November 24 as the results of a traumatic brain injury from a hit and run accident in Paulsboro NJ. Smith was born on June 17, 1961 to Verna E. and Lloyd E. Smith of Clinton NJ. He graduated from North Hunterdon Regional High School in 1979. Doug lived in Ringoes for over 30 years and worked at Ortho Diagnostics in Research and Development/Manufacturing. Most recently he lived in Hagerstown MD and worked for Supernus Pharmaceuticals in Rockville MD in GMP Operations. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and true Nascar devotee. The lights of his life were his three daughters Christina, Rachel and Brittany and his grandchildren Brodie, Mackenzie, Atticus, Locke and Izaak. Doug was an organ/tissue donor and his legacy will live on through the recipients of his selfless gift. He is predeceased by his parents Verna and Lloyd Smith. He is survived by his daughters Christina McGheehan of Los Angeles, California, Rachel Robinson (Anthony) of Cherry Hill NJ and Brittany Barry (Chris) of Paulsboro NJ. He is also survived by his sisters Carol Lunden (Ron) of Bechtelsville PA, Sharon Amerman (Charles) of Conway SC, Bonnie Graham (Gordon) of Belvidere NJ and Debra Kraemer (Robert) of Lake Ariel PA. A memorial service with be held at 1 pm on December 17, 2022 at the Hunterdon Christian Church, 71 Summer Rd. Flemington NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cooper University Trauma Center or NJ Caring Network.
