Dearest Bubba,
I’m so very sorry to hear of your untimely passing. I’m so glad that I was able to see you on my last visit to Barbados. I fondly remember the times I spent playing with Landy and you being there just enjoying laughing at us. You were like a big brother. I will always carry you in my heart. My heart felt condolences to Annie, Rosie, Kenny Jr, Andray, your grands and great grands Also to Venie, Landy, Vickie, Hyacinth and your other loved ones. Sleep in peace beloved and may God grant you a place in His eternal kingdom.

I grew up with Kenrick in St. David's Village and we both attended St. David's boys elementary school. He lived across from Mr. Graham's shop. Everyone called him Bubba, never Kenrick. We were close friends. He was never talkative preferring to smile. At that time it was only he and his mum, The family moved to Clapham and as a result I didn't see him often. However, whenever we saw each other we would chat. I eventually left Barbados and settled in Montreal in 1974. On my trips home I would sometimes ask guys we grew up with what became of him. In 1998 while at home I ran into his mum in the bank at Wildey and enquired about him. She was very surprised that I had remembered her. She introduced me to one of her daughters who was with her. About 2 weeks ago a mutual friend sent me a note on WhatsApp telling me of his untimely death. When I was home in 2016 I saw his cousin Orlander and asked her how he and his mum were doing and to say hello for me. To his wife, kids, grandkids, sisters and extended family I offer my sincere condolences. May he RIP and RIG

Q: What will you never forget about Kenrick?
A: From the first time I met him he made me feel as if I was a Bajan cousin for life! He greeted me with that electric smile and a hug. His infectious laughter was a soothing balm no matter what ailed you. If you didn’t love Barbados you surely did after spending time with Bubba. I will miss him but I am grateful to have been blessed by his loving presence. Rest well.
