Obituary
Adèle P François, 94 of Willingboro NJ, passed away at Virtua Willingboro Hospital on Sunday, February 12, 2023 from cardiac arrest. Mrs. François was fully mobile, coherent and active up until August of 2022, where she suffered a stroke, which unfortunately led to the decline of her health. She was born in Cap-Haitian, a vibrant town rich in culture, great architecture and artistic life, on April 4, 1928, to the late Sonia and Dominique Prophète. She immigrated to the US originally in 1971, she subsequently went back to Haiti for a few years. Her final destination to the US was in 1979. She originally lived in New York City, and later settled in the Country Club Ridge/Franklin Park area of Willingboro Township NJ.
Mrs. François, was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Waterllo Sylvio François and two sons, Gertho François, and Michel Mario François. She is survived by five children: Claire Marie Jacqueline Charlot, Rev. Presler Jacques François, Marie Anne Jocelyne François, Alex François, and Adeline Auguste and their spouses; one sibling Raoul Prophète; two godsons: Bishop Antoine Obas and Yverle Marc; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
She was a proud alumnus in an institution in Cap-Haitian, where she received classical training and graduated with a Brevet Superieur diploma. She loved the art of embroidery which gave her the outlet to express her creative side. She also became an avid seamstress and enjoyed sewing. She used her sewing skills to sew custom outfits for her precious kids when they were toddlers. Mrs. François was not only a great mother to her children, but later in life when they became adults, she played a pivotal role in their lives and as a great mother-in-law to their spouses.
In 1974, Mrs. François accepted the lord as her personal savior at the Church of God, in Mahotiere. She later served as a deaconess at Bethel Soul Restoration Ministry, formerly Bethel Soul Saving Station, where her son Rev. Presler Jacques François was the Pastor. With an ardent desire to follow her Lord and savior, Mrs. Adèle François was water baptized the same year that she was saved.
Mrs. Francois, was a dedicated and a devoted wife to her late husband. She was a hardworking person, who managed her household in an immaculate fashion. She never shirked away from her responsibilities as a mother, sister, aunt, and a friend. Moreover, she was an awesome grandmother who took pride in caring for her grandchildren.
Mrs. Adèle François was truly an amazing, caring and loving individual. The wonderful memories that she left behind will live on in each and everyone of us. The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving support of relatives and friends during this difficult time.
