Shylice, your light and eccentric soul made this world a better place. Your smile lit up the room wherever you went with those unforgettable dimples. I'll always admire your strength and the fact that you never gave up in life. I'm so grateful for the years we spent together, and that our lives crossed paths.

Evangelist L.B. Foy posted a condolence

Greetings to Sister Dawn and her dear family. I wish to extend to you each my deepest sympathy. I do remember Sister Shylice, as a young teenager, at the Sharon Baptist Church of New Brunswick, N.J. She had a loving spirit and a joyous smile. I was sadden to hear of her untimely passing at such a young age, with a birthday close at hand. Often expressed, that our God knows best and loved she more. Amen. May His' Grace and Peace, always be upon you all during this most trying time. Sincerely, Evangelist Lillie B. Foy & Family ~ Somerset, New Jersey.

My Dear Sweet Beautiful Niece,
I remember like it was yesterday when you were born. God blessed me with being your mom's birthing coach and boy-oh-boy... you had us up for a solid 30 hours straight before you'd made your grand entry into this world. Your mom of course, was exhausted and passed out to acquire some much-needed sleep. So, there I was, the first to hold you and to witness just how beautiful you were - - Today, I know just how special that moment was and will always be to me.
As you became a toddler, I was granted and was grateful to witness the ball of sunshine you were during the time your mom joined me as my roommate in my very first apartment. You were the absolute cutest baby girl... SIMPLY ADORABLE.
As you became a young woman, you grew into the sweetest, loving, caring, silly, smart and beautiful young women. One thing is for sure, you were the epitome of Love & Light with whomever you interacted with... There was something infectious about your spirit and I absolutely loved that about you.
I recall a deep conversation we shared during the time you'd gotten and were living in your very own apartment. We talked about how you loved cooking, and how you loved poetry, loved children and was going to be babysitting your neighbor's child. But more importantly, I learned that day that you were a writer of your own poems and that you had artistic abilities with drawing. You were not only gorgeous inside and out you were SO VERY TALENTED!
Shylice, I hold a special place in my heart for you where that big beautiful, dimpled smile and laughter of yours will remain vivid in my memory; and where I will cherish every memorable moment and conversation that I had with you. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH and will miss you more than words can express! May your infectious spirit live on and may you rest now, my sweet and beautiful niece... Rest in Heavenly Peace.
