Obituary of James A Munson
Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James Anthony Munson was born on February 10, 1969, at the Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ. On Thursday, February 16, 2023, James was called by our Heavenly Father to depart his earthly life.
James, who we affectionately called "Tony", began his early years in Williamstown, NJ, where he began his elementary education in the Monroe Township Public School system. In 1975, he along with his family, relocated to West Chester, PA. Tony’s education was continued in West Chester Area School Dist. thru the 5th grade; at which point, he along with his family, relocated to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he attended RICS (the Riyadh International Community School). In 1982, Tony and his family returned home to West Chester, PA.
Tony attended and graduated from Henderson High School in West Chester in 1987. After graduation, he attended Cheyney University, majoring in Industrial Management. He furthered his education at Lincoln Technical School, majoring in Electronics and Computer Repair; after which, he attended Netrain where he became proficient in computer networking. Tony was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He loved being a Mason and he earned a 33rd degree in the Masonic Order.
With the downturn of the economy, Tony was laid off from his computer job, which he dearly truly enjoyed, and was forced to begin a new career. He became the business owner and operator of a taxicab service. In December of 2008, while on the job, he was robbed at gun point. As a result of this robbery, Tony suffered severe brain trauma; and he was hospitalized in a coma for several months. After a long recovery, and with a strong determination, he was once again able to live a somewhat normal life on his own until he was called home.
James Anthony “Tony” Munson, departed this life, leaving to morn his passing and cherish his memory, his parents, Charles and Shirley Munson, one sister Sonya Munson Ward (Eric), one nephew, Isaiah Ward, two nieces, Moriah and Eliah Ward, two aunts, Madeline Fisher (Russell), and Elizabeth Munson, an Uncle, Robert Munson (Jackie) and a host of other family members and friends.
Sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
