Obituary of Joann Jackson

Joann Paulett Jackson, Grandmom Jo, she was 69 years old. On May 1, 2023 at Arista Care Nursing Home in Cherry Hill, NJ 08002 she decided to go home with her Lord. Joann was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 5, 1954 to Corrine Green (Cousin) and Joe Bacon. She went to Oak Knoll Elementary and Williamstown High School, She received her GED at CCC and she went on to earn her Associate’s degree in business at Rutgers University. She also fellowshipped at Bethany Baptist in Lindenwold, NJ. Joann loved her some Paul Mason and Pepsi. She always kept her nails and her hair done. She would curse you and love you at the same time and if you got her nerves too much, she would bust you with her cane. She did not play about her kids, her grandchildren, her friends nor family. Some of her favorite saying was “That is a negative” or “Do I look like I give a bleep bleep” “They cannot Beat Me.” She worked a multitude of jobs. Some of the jobs that she worked at and gained long –time friendships with people was the Yes Program with helping young girls to try and turn their life around and Center for Family Services. She worked at Cooper Hospital in housekeeping for over 10 years and Riverfront Assistant living home where she and her son Raymond worked together. She and her late husband John Jackson had opened a sub shop on Haddon Avenue in Camden, NJ. Joann even did a little waitressing at Hanks in North Philly. She enjoyed playing bubble pop and many different games on her phone. Joann was a good mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a highly intelligent black woman who made the Dean’s list. She will forever be missed rest well Joann grandmom Jo. Joann is survived by her mother Corrine Cousin of Sicklerville, NJ two sisters Susann Langston-Cousin of Sicklerville, NJ; Gale Watkins (Byron) of Camden, NJ, her sister/cousin Christine Taylor of Pennsauken, NJ Niece Corrine Langston and her daughter Aaliyah Scalford of Sicklerville, NJ; Nephews Paul Watkins of Glassboro, NJ and Wendell Sergio Langston of Sicklerville, NJ. Her 5 Children Raymond Anthony Bacon (Torey Daniel) of Camden, NJ; Oliver Archie Stanley Bacon (Roseann Ward) Gloucester City, NJ, Celestine Tamara Jett El of Aiken, SC, Reginald Ward of Gloucester City, NJ, and Preston Joseph Jett El (Katrina Osbourne) of Sicklerville, NJ; 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grands.
