Please share a memory of Krystal to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Krystal Lavette Mitchell Bradsbery was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to the union of the late Pastor Ernest Mitchell, Jr. and the late Pearlie Viola Vance Mitchell on March 12, 1958. She transitioned to her heavenly home on June 1, 2023, at Samaritan Hospice, Mount Holly, NJ.
Krystal was the third child of four siblings: Tamullah Halim (Lonnie), Steven Eugene Mitchell (Deceased), and Pastor Ernest Mitchell III. Krystal was educated in the Hamilton Township School System and graduated from Steinert High School in 1977. Krystal was employed at Mercer County Community College and retired after numerous years of service. Krystal accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at the Solid Rock Baptist Church under the pastorate of her father, the late Pastor Ernest Mitchell, Jr. Krystal loved the Lord and delighted in worshiping GOD. Krystal enjoyed bowling, eating at IHOP, music, laughing, dancing, singing, and cooking. Krystal was known for her delicious cornbread. Krystal was particular about her “hair” and always said “don’t touch my hair.” Krystal would fight you or hit you with her baby dolls, and wore her brothers out. Krystal inherited her personality from her mother, Pearlie. You never had to guess where she stood because her presence said it all. Krystal had a notable personality. She was a crier, feisty, would hit, and curse you out.
Most of all Krystal loved her family. Krystal loved her sister-in-law, Marian, nieces, and nephews. Krystal cared for her nieces and nephews when they visited with their MomMom. Krystal loved her brother and would her say after talking with family “where’s my brother.” Ernest was her advocator, defender, protector, and supporter. Ernest loved her dearly. Krystal had an endearing relationship with her niece Ernisha. Krystal looked forward to her visits, talking with her, and getting her hair done. Krystal was lovingly and affectionately known throughout her life as “Krys”, “Krystal Ball”, “Krystal Bell,” “Aunt Krystal”, “My Sister” and “My Baby”. Krystal often said “Sleep on and take your rest. I love you, but GOD loves you best.”
