Obituary
With heavy hearts, we sadly announce the passing of Roberto “Warren” Feliz, Sr., of Camden, NJ. He died at the age of 61 on Father’s Day, June 18th, 2023. Warren leaves behind three wonderful sons he dearly loved: Roberto Warren Jr., Joshua Enrique and Xavier Alcibiades Feliz. His legacy lives on with his sons and his three beautiful Granddaughters: Isabella, Leilani and Adrian Feliz, as well as plenty of nephews and nieces. Warren was a beloved older Brother and survived by three younger sisters: Ivette Feliz, Ruth Basco and Jacqueline Kaegi and his Aunt, who was like a Mother figure to him: Catalina Hunter as well as many family members in Dominican Republic. He is predeceased by his Father, Alcibiades Feliz, Mother, Leida De La Paz-Roman, Step-Father, Melanio Roman and Younger Brother, Eddy Feliz - who are together in glory celebrating eternal life with Jesus Christ.
Warren was a unique character. He was always cracking corny jokes and loved playing sports! His all time favorite passion was StarTrek - a trekkie nut for sure. An avid reader, he enjoyed reading various books, newspapers and collecting, Comic books or “Paquitos” including the “Marvel” series. He had a big heart for his community and wanted to make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable… In fact, he ran for Mayor of Camden and was one of the 1st bilingual liaison for the Dominican and Puerto Rican population to help them get out and stay out of poverty. He made many friends easily - whether keeping childhood friends from the past or making new friends - they were all special to him. He was pro-education - Always trying to earn a new certificate for higher learning. He had an exceptional, long standing career in Construction Safety and built a successful inspection business in the area.
To many, Warren was known as a serious and reserved person and he had layers - but as he grew older, God softened his heart, he began to shed those layers - realizing some of his past mistakes, making up for lost time, doing his best to make things right. He became vulnerable like never before and humbled himself to the Lord - God began to do a new thing and in God’s perfect timing - He finished it and now he’s a new Creation in Christ. Philippians 1:6 “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
He will be dearly missed and we love him so much! May he rest in peace and enjoy the forever blessings of eternal life with Jesus Christ - our Lord and Savior.
