Obituary of Nadine Farrier

Nadine Farrier was born September 16,1968 in Newark NJ to the late Mary Rankin and Willie Mayer. She peacefully transitioned into the presence of the Lord June 29, 2023.
Nadine went Miller Street elementary school in Newark,NJ.She was always in advance classes and as a little girl she always had a big heart for all her classmates and friends. She always saw the good in people regardless of their short comings. She went to University High School. Nadine did not go to college immediately after high school as she went to work many different jobs.
Nadine was employed at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) for 1993- 2013 in the Department of Government and Public Affairs and News Service & Marketing.
She was admired by everyone she worked with including others in various departments with whom she interacted. She was well known for being extremely organized, detail oriented and being the "go to" person regarding technology. Nadine often took the time out of her day to teach her peers new things that would enhance their skills, Her personality, sense of humor and witty responses are just a few of the traits that everyone enjoyed. Nadine was a trustworthy employee especially concerning confidentiality and ensuring that all policies were followed. She was well respected by her colleagues for her professionalism.
After becoming the supervisor of the team, Nadine's attitude toward the staff remained the same. Even on days when there was a tense atmosphere in the office, she would find a way to energize the team. She never separate herself from the staff. Nadine continued to make us laugh until we cried. She would often joke about the way we were dressed, talked or the way we walked. She even found ways to make the staff laugh about the mistakes they made as she kindly redirected them. Nadine was so dedicated to her job that most days she would work two hours beyond the end of her shift to make sure that the days work was complete and accurate. She even did this without receiving overtime pay.
Around 1993 she met Mr Farrier and they dated and even lived together off and on until 2003 they purchased their first home. Soon after they married and after a lovely night in Atlantic City, they come to be real winners because in 2004 Taylor Alysse Farrier was born making this union a family. They later added to their family her great niece and nephew Jalynn and Saffere Walker. Then around 2013 she moved to Philadelphia Pennsylvania with her family starting her job at the University of Penn tempting in varies departments. She then accepted a part time position in the provost office as an Admin assistant in 2019.
Nadine continued temping in department of medicine/Renal where she assisted with budgetary tasks and other administrative duties - all while working in the provost office.
She later accepted a position as a grants coordinator (May of 2021) in department of medicine/translational Medicine. In this role Nadine supported grants managers with payroll and grantsmanship related tasks. She later accepted a role as HR staffing specialist (May 2022) where she worked within the department of medicine to support various division with VISA and HR related requests/tasks.
During her time in Philadelphia, she decided to do one of he lifetime goals, which was to finish college. While working Nadine attend Rowan Community College earning her degree in Associate of Science in the year of 2018. From then on she continued her education aiming to earn her degree in Human resources which she would have received in December 2023.She would have earned her masters. Nadine loved to learn and set her mind on all her goals in life. She wanted to see all her children graduate high school and on June 9th she accomplished that by seeing her daughter Taylor Farrier graduate. Nadine was a beautiful, kind, compassionate and caring person. Wherever there was a need, she was there to help. She loved and cherished her family and had a special place in her heart for all. Her husband, brothers, nieces, nephews, children and ect. Y'all know who y'all are. She left a lasting impression on her family, friends and everyone who had the pleasure of her company. She will be missed by all of those lives she touched young and old.
