Obituary of Clifford J Glover

Joe Glover was born in Stockton Georgia on January 28, 1936, to the late Wayman.
Glover and Geneva Hammonds Glover. He attended elementary and high school in
Lakeland, Georgia and accepted Christ at an early age.
While in Georgia, Joe fathered one (1) daughter, Joanne. After coming to New Jersey,
Joe and Louise Lawrence were married in Newark, New Jersey, on October 18, 1959,
and have two (2) children, Cherryl and Travis. They joined the Greater Harvest Baptist
Church in Newark, New Jersey, and after a few years, Joe became the president of the
Back Home Choir.
When Joe first moved to New Jersey, he worked in construction before becoming an
entrepreneur who owned and operated Better Men Home Cleaning Service for
approximately twenty-five (25) years. After being self-employed, he was hired by the
New Jersey Department of Transportation (DOT), where he retired. He was the North
Jersey Chapter President of Local 195 and also the Union Representative.
Joe lived in Mine Hill, New Jersey for twenty-eight (28) years and joined the New
Jerusalem Baptist Church in Morristown, New Jersey, where he was ordained as a
Deacon. After the doors of the church closed, Deacon Glover became a member of
Pilgrim Baptist Church in Summit, New Jersey, where he was the Chairman of the
Deacon Board for 4 years.
While residing in Mine Hill, Deacon Glover was offered and accepted a position on the
Board of Adjustment for the Township, where he performed duties for 20 years.
After relocating to Whiting, NJ, he joined St. Mark Baptist Church in Browns Mills, under
the leadership of Reverend Curtis W. Smith, where he served faithfully as a deacon.
Deacon Glover was preceded in death by his father Waymon Glover and mother.
Geneva Glover, four (4) sisters: Walteree Muchinson, Margaret Tomlin, Connell Tomlin,
Barbara Jean Carter and one (1) brother, Curtis Glover.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories with his wife, Louise Glover, three (3)
children: Joanne Marshall, Cherryl Sharp and husband, Donzelle Sharp, Travis Glover
and wife, LaShawn Glover. One sister-in-law, Dr. Claretha Lawrence Graham.
Grandchildren: Bernard, Erica (Nathaniel), Ryan (Amoy), Al-Lateef (Orianna), Dorothy
(Chris), Travis (Brianna), Tiffany (Tyson), Nichole, and a devoted grandson who was
raised like a son, Nadir (Natalia), and a host of great-grandchildren,
great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
