Barbara Jean Hardwick of Camden, NJ gained her wings on October 11, 2023. Barbara was born on August 18, 1944, to the late (parents name) in (location), she was one of twenty-eight siblings. Shortly after birth she moved to Camden, NJ where she was raised by (parents name). Barbara attended the Camden City Public School System and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in (year). Barbara went on to be married and from this union she had three children. Carol Street, Sandra
Hardwick and Darryl Hardwick.
In 1975 Barbara started working for Haddon Prep in the city of Camden under The Employment Training Act. Within a year of hard work and dedication she was offered a position with The State of New Jersey Department of Corrections as a Sr. Clerk Transcriber. She later transitioned to a secretarial position in “Camden House” working with juveniles in the system. This is where her love for the youth really shined through her work. Being a mother figure for the children that went through their program. Barbara continued her career with “Camden House” for the next 34 years until she retired in 2010.
Barbara loved spending time with family and friends just as much as she loved shopping from HSN and QVC. She cooked her family meals out of love even though at times it took her longer than we’d liked. She wrapped us with her love and happy spirit even when we didn’t know we needed it. Barbara will be missed by many young and old. Family, friends, coworkers and her neighborhood family (32nd and Fremont).
