Obituary for David Arnold Thomas
David Arnold Thomas age 61 was born on November 15, 1961, to the late John Thomas, Jr. and Elizabeth Thomas the youngest of this union. He was preceded in death by a beloved sister Clara Walker-Foster. He departed this life on November 28, 2023.
He attended both Public and Parochial schools throughout Camden City. Upon graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School and later attending Job Corp where he mastered many skills.
Arnold’s love for others increased quickly, especially in the area of disabled children which he enjoyed working with intensely. To his family he was Arnold, but to his friends, associates and coworkers he was David.
He often joked that he was two people. He had an awesome sense of humor, he enjoyed and loved his family and was fun, loving, and hardworking, but never had a problem speaking his mind.
California became his home base because of the weather, atmosphere, and the star gazing. Arnold shared many stories about the California scene. Although he never had children of his own, he had three cats that were his four-legged children.
Every time the discussion came up about him moving back home, he was quick to say, “He wasn’t leaving his cats”. David Arnold rededicated his life to the Lord and never looked back! He often spoke of dedication to the church he attended and the mission that he spent volunteering his time helping others. His favorite TV Evangelist and pastor was Joyce Meyer and Dr. Tony Evans which he watched every morning.
Arnold leaves to cherish his memories siblings, Charles Walker, John Thomas, Clarene Walker, Joseph Cornelius, Irene Swinson, and Correne Jo Thomas. Sisters in love; Lorraine Cornelius, Ivy Lewis, and Dilon Walker, Special acknowledgement to caregivers Tresa Wilson and Ralph Nelson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends on the West Coast (California). Lovingly Submitted, The Family
