Obituary of Harry Tatem
Please share a memory of Harry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Harry (Brother) Tatem was born April 24th,1956 to the late William (Pete) and Elizabeth (Shug) Tatem in Camden, New Jersey. Harry was the youngest of seven children. Preceding Harry in death was his brothers William (Sonny), Thomas (Pies), Alexander (Archie), Howard (Howie) and a sister Mary Delores Tatem. On Sunday, April 21st,2024 Harry was called home.
"Brother" as he was affectionately called was a friend to many and an enemy to none. He was always fun and loved to laugh. Always a joy to be around. Everyone that truly knew him, knew how much he loved his music. Brother knew how to play his favorite "oldies" and have a good old time whether he had company or not. Even when enduring the difficulties of his amputation and sickness, he never let those circumstances get him down.
His neighbors say that, whenever it was nice outside. Brother would always be out on his porch listening to music and enjoying himself. He was kind and friendly to everyone he met and always left a lasting impression.
Brother was educated in the Camden Public School System. He worked at W.M. Russell & Company and Cooper River Nursing Home, until his health declined. He enjoyed playing his guitar and being around family. He often talked about his younger days, his motorcycle.
Harry's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his loving devoted wife Latina (Tina) and his pride and joy only child Bryanna (Bree) sister Alice Tatem, sisters-in-law, Barabara Tatem, Beatrice Martin, brother-in-law, Clyde Robinson, mother-in-law Diane Stevens. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
When I lived, my family and friends saw me through the good and bad. It is okay to cry your tears for me today. But soon the good memories will keep you from being sad. I have one last request to all of my family and friends. Cheer up now and put a smile on your face and know in your heart I am no longer in pain and in a better place and reunited with my family and friends.
