Please share a memory of Chris to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
His Life Story
Christopher R. Chester, Sr. was born in Camden NJ on July 22, 1978, at Cooper Hospital to Edward M. Chester the late Brenda V. Chester.
Chris was educated in the Camden City School District where he attended North East Elementary School, Pyne Poynt Middle School before going to Woodrow Wilson High School. He received his GED as an adult. This was
a major accomplishment that he was immensely proud of because it was important to him to set an example for his children to understand the importance of education and accomplishing their goals.
He had a few hobbies but the ones that stood out the most was his love of riding motorcycles, something that he got from our father. He had recently rediscovered his love for fish and had garnered an impressive collection. He was a huge boxing fan and loved to gather with family and friends to watch boxing matches.
Family was the most important aspect Chris’s life. His children were the light of his life. He became a father at a young age; however, he always did all that he could to ensure his kids were happy, loved and well taken care of. When he became a grandfather, that light got even brighter. He loved spending quality time and having all of his children and grandchildren in one setting. He loved to be surrounded by his family & valued the importance of sticking together. He always made sure to stay in contact with family near and far, either by visiting or on social media. He was bold yet reserved, genuine & always there for his children and loved ones. Christopher will always be remembered for his bright smile, warm hugs & comforting energy. He was a man of integrity with a heart of gold who will be missed by so many.
He is survived by his father Edward M. Chester (Janet), his children Tiona D. Chester, Tatyana M. Howard, Christopher R. Chester Jr., Reyana N. Chester, and Shawn M. Chester; his five grandchildren Camryn, Zane, Milan, Noah, and K’Mani; siblings Shawna D. Carey, Michael Y. Chester (Tamika) Callie K. Chester, and Tyrese Canty (Nikita); Along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
