Obituary of June P Jackson

Obituary June P. Jackson was born to the late John and Margaret Ponzo on February 27, 1938, in Camden, New Jersey. She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was educated in the Camden school system and graduated from Camden High School in 1955. While in high school June met the love of her life Harry O. Jackson, and they married on October 22, 1955. To this union were born four children, Bradley, Brian, Cheryl, and Crystal. June and Harry spent their early years of marriage in Camden then moved to the suburb of Williamstown, New Jersey in 1970, where all the children graduated from Williamstown High School, attended college, and flourished in careers in information technology, federal government program management, and psychology. June was a very devoted and dedicated wife and mother; and loving her husband and raising their children were her greatest joys. She also cherished the many family and friends gatherings and barbecues that she and Harry hosted for many years for no reason other than the love of fellowship. In 1992 the now empty nesters moved to Decatur Georgia where June spent the next 30 years of her life and made a host of new friends and acquaintances. She was active in the community and served as secretary for the Sherwood Oaks Homeowners Association. She was also a member of the Sherwood Oaks book club where she was cherished for her wisdom and candid reflections. Harry and June had that special bond not found in many couples; they adored, loved, and were fully committed to caring for each other. They were married for an amazing 68 years before she departed her earthly life quietly in her home in Decatur Georgia surrounded by her husband and children on June 30, 2024. June leaves to mourn her loss: Her husband Harry O. Jackson, four children Bradley S. Jackson, Brian O. Jackson, Cheryl A. Jackson, and Crystal L. Frazier Conway; one son-in-law Robert F. Conway Jr.; two sisters Joyce P. Ashley-Quarles, and Terri R. Lewis; one brother-in-law Norman Lewis; grandchildren Alisha and Micah Beale, Brian Jackson Jr. and MaryBeth Jackson, Aaron Jackson, Allan Jackson, Jarrod and Nakia Frazier, Jerald Frazier, and Lanaya Jackson as well as a host of other family and friends. Predeceased by: Daughters-in-law Linda A. Lewis-Jackson and Yvette F. Jackson; and two sisters Lonita P. Green and Yvonne D. Lipscomb.
