Obituary of Rosalie Robinson
Please share a memory of Rosalie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rosalie Robinson (Pendleton) was born on June 7, 1926 to Mary and Harold Pendleton in South Philadelphia. Her older sister, Nell Pendleton, passed away when 'Rose' was only 11 years old. She went to Barrett Junior high and Southern high school, both in South Philadelphia, and had many friends. She had to work from an early age, having to complete many chores at home like cooking for the family, cleaning the house, and washing clothes. The chores were so demanding that she almost quit high school, but was strongly encouraged by her uncle to continue and finish -- for hopes of a good job later. He told her she needed to have "Bull Dog TENACITY" to be successful in life. Fortunately, she listened, got her diploma, and eventually worked for the civilian side of the Defense Dept. at the Quartermaster in South Philly where she eventually retired from. Soon after meeting a handsome young man, Arthur Robinson, they married, but it was not long before they separated. She moved on to a career in real estate where she found her true calling as a landlord. She is survived by her daughter Janis Cooper, married to Rodney Cooper; her grandchildren Joshua (married to Heather Cooper -- and 2 great children), Jaime, and Leah (married to Dhamir Steward -- and 2 more great grandchildren). Her encouragement to all of us is to save your money, spend carefully, and work hard.
