Mary Judith Nelson was one of the most kind, loving, thoughtful persons I ever met. She was my mentor at work, but quickly became a best friend. I followed in her footsteps at work, style of dress, hair styling, love of handbags, and much more. I learned to entertain at my home, by watching how she entertained at her home. I prepared my meals as she advised. I raised my children as I saw her do. So much of my maturation came at her knee, so to speak, but she was more like a big sister. We laughed and cried on the phone for hours after we both were retired. Grandchildren, and in her case Great-grandchildren, took up most of our conversation. She really loved that part of her life. She had a full life with her devoted husband Richie, daughter Lisa, sister Gloria, and the whole family, most of whom I met at one time or another. Take care Cookie, we will see you again. In Jesus' Name.
